Vancouver Swimathon
What is the Swimathon?
Unlike most sporting events, the Vancouver Swimathon is not a race! It is however an opportunity for swimmers of all levels to challenge themselves by swimming as many laps as possible within 60 minutes at the spectacular 137.5m Kitsilano outdoor pool. The only competition involved is to see which individual or team can raise the most money for KidSport Vancouver.

The first annual Vancouver Swimathon began with Vancouver’s Fast Lane swim club in 2009. Over 50 swimmers jumped in the water to help raise awareness and approximately $10,000 for KidSport Vancouver. Our top fundraiser that year was Beverli Barnes who raised $2,500.
With Beverli’s passion and belief that all kids should play, the event has grown and this year we are setting our sites on raising over $100, 000 for the Vancouver chapter! To do this, we have opened the event to all swim clubs and individuals who want to participate, with a maximum of 300 swimmers.
It’s up to you how you want to swim – Freestyle, Breastroke, Butterfly or Dog Paddle. For the safety of all swimmers backstroke with not be permitted.
